Computers

All the computers at Blip are custom built by our IT department to meet the requirements of there applications. The Current computers are running Windows XP or Vista on a variety of hardware. To ensure compatibility, Blip also owns a Mac running OS X.

Calibration

We use Xrite/GretagMacbeth Eye-One’s to calibrate just about everything here. For calibration at home we recommend getting a Pantone Huey for your monitor, or the Xrite ColorMunki if you need to calibrate your home printer too.

Scanning

Even though digital cameras have reduced the need for scanning, the technology still adds value and convenience for our customers. At Blip, we have some great technology available for our customer needs. All of our High speed Xerox Digital copiers have the ability to scan in your long documents and save them directly to Tiffs, or multi Page PDF files. We have Optical Character Recognition software too. This allows us to have the computer re-type your documents with the least amount of user intervention with accuracy greater than 99%. As well as document scanning, Blip offers large format scanning as well. Our Kip 3000 can scan in large documents such as posters and plans. Our Microtek ArtixScan 120TF allows us to scan in your slides, 35mm film and medium format film at a high optical resolution of 4000dpi. The Umax Powerlook 1120 can scan up to 8.5x11 at a maximum optical resolution of 1200dpi. We also have a Purup-Eskofot F-10 flatbed scanner. The F-10 can scan up to an A3 size at optical resolution 2500dpi, or up to 10,000 dpi 4” wide down the middle of the scanner.

For larger items that require a high level of color fidelity for reproduction or replication, such as paintings, we have a Better Light Super 6KII scanning camera back. This scanner replaces the film holder in a large format camera. We use a 4x5 Horseman camera with a variety of lenses to capture images for our customers.
