ResourcesCompatibilityWhen Blip first opened, desktop publishing was in its infancy. When computers and programs got powerful enough to do quality work we started down the technology path. However, in 1990 when we bought our first computers for graphics work there were no local stores that sold Macintosh computers, so we went the way of Windows. We admit that we are kind of an anomaly, but it works for our customers and us. We do own a Macintosh for a variety of reasons; the main reason is for compatibility with customers using the Mac platform. As time has gone by, applications have changed, and those that are supported by both platforms are now virtually identical. The only differences usually have to do with the way the operating system handles the interface. Some say that one type of system works better than another for particular types of jobs. Those people are dead wrong. It is only because they are familiar with doing things on one type of system. A good designer can do good design work in any design program on any platform. A good designer could even do professional work in a program like Microsoft Publisher, or even Word. The program and platform are irrelevant to the philosophies of good design. One must know the limitations of their programs, and find ways of accomplishing their work within those limitations. MediaWe are compatible with many popular forms of removable computer media. Currently we accept CD’s (including CDR and CDR-W), DVD’s (Dual layer, +-R, and +-RW), 100 and 250MB zip disks, USB and Firewire hard drives, USB Keys, Compact Flash/MicroDrives, MMC cards, SD cards, XD cards, SM cards, and Sony Memory Sticks, and 3½” floppy disk. SPEICAL NOTE: Roxio Easy CD Creator users, if you use the “Drag to Disk” feature of Easy CD Creator, please make sure that you select the box that says “This disk will be used on other computers or devices”. This will close the session and save us time. Drag to Disk is a useful feature, but it takes up valuable resources on a computer system, and it wastes time asking questions every time you eject a disk that used it, therefore we do not install it when installing Easy CD Creator. |
